Founded in 1970 and incorporated in 1973, the Maine Quarter Horse Association is a non-profit 501 (c)(5) organization dedicated to the promotion of the American Quarter Horse within the State of Maine. MeQHA has over three hundred members. The organization's focus is geared to ALL disciplines and facets of horse interests, receational riding, speed events, showing and dressage to name a few. MeQHA offers clinics, trail rided, AQHA pointed shows, Open Show awards, Scholarships for in-state as well as out-of-state youth members and year end awards.

Saddle-Up Maine Want to be recognized for your many hours of being int the saddle and maybe even driving, or simply just enjoying Maine?
- Open to all breeds
- Must maintain a continuous membership in MeQHA or MEQHYA. As long as membership dues are paid before April 1st, hours from previous years will be carried over.
- In order to receive an award at the annual meeting and banquet logs must be returned by Oct. 1st.
- All logs must be turned in by the end of Jan. For the previous years hours to be counted.
- Separate log for each horse.
- Participants need not own the horse.
- Earn Bonus miles All hours logged on AQHA/MeQHA Trail Rides will be doubled.
- One time fee of $15 as long as the above rules are followed.

Dressage and Maine
How to get started Welcome to Maine Quarter Horse Dressage program. MeQHA is excited to be hosting a dressage program in conjunction with Maine Dressage Society(MDS). Our goal is to provide a fun and safe places to show your registered Quarter Horse and earn year -end awards for doing so. To compete you must become a member of a local MDS club and a member of MeQHA. There are four MDA clubs in Maine. To find a club near you,contact www.mainedressagesociety.org. To join MeQHA contact their website WWW.MeQHA.org.Please read all of the MeQHA dressage rules. Mail a completed Dressage Competition Form, along with all of the proof of memberships. Then ride at any MDS shows listed in the 2008 Omnibus, make sure you have the judge/ show secretary sign and date your test. High point ribbons will be awarded at specific shows, Please see show list. To compete for year-end awards, either Youth or Adult, you must ride and send in 3 or more score sheets, (the 3 highest score will be the ones considered for points, dropping the lowest scores), but please send in as many as you ride, then the MeQHA board will know how many test yourode for the year. You must send in the top 3 scores at the level(s) you are competing in and have earned at least 5 points according to the points in the MeQHA Dressage Rules. The Horse and rider combo with the highest score will receive the Year-end award with a reserve to the second place team. Remember have fun and be safe, as we are in a trial period this year.
