We work on the main reason they are here, but also focus on the little things that sometimes get ignored or looked past. Our horses are not only worked in the arena/round pen, but they often get to go out on trail. They love doing this, and it is a great way to let them have a mental break from the arena work. We also (with your permission) load up the horses and take them to show grounds, other ranches, etc. to be schooled. This not only gives them hauling practice, but also lets them get used to being in different environments. They get used to all the commotion, and learn to pay attention to their rider even when there is a bunch of stuff going on.
